On Saturday, we were able to enjoy a very special day. Our friends from Grand Perpignan, a team formed by the union of two historic Rossellon clubs, FLHV and RMVP, returned the visit we made to them in May when our S14 traveled to Perpignan and enjoyed a great match and a spectacular and fun third half in Haut Vernet.
About 70 members of Grand Perpignan, including players, coaches, and companions, traveled to Barcelona to play two matches in the S14 and S16 categories. Unlike in May, when our S14 won the match in Perpignan, this Saturday both matches went to the Rossellon side. Their good play and physical strength prevailed in both encounters. In both categories, Grand Perpignan displayed an intense offensive game while our players held off the visitors’ attacks with order and seriousness, while also trying to create danger with worthy counterattacks and good collective play.
Despite the defeats, the two demanding matches, marked by intensity and the desire to play, provided great learning experiences for our players and, at the same time, were the best way to face the season that is just starting.
After the matches, we shared a great third half where we once again saw the best side of rugby, with players from both clubs interacting, exchanging shirts, and enjoying the atmosphere that should always be present in our sport. A day that will surely be repeated, and visits to Perpignan and Barcelona will continue.
