Today we have the pleasure of speaking with a dedicated and enthusiastic father who has found in the Club a new way to enjoy and contribute to the world of rugby. Although he is an amateur Touch player and father of two young players, his connection with the Club goes beyond the field: he actively participates in the management of the bar, the development of the website and other projects that promote the entity.
In this interview, we will discover what motivated him to offer his time as a volunteer, the satisfaction that this role brings him and how he experiences collaboration in an environment where teamwork is key. He will also share with us his ideas to grow the community and encourage other members to join the volunteer team, highlighting the gratification that comes from contributing to the growth of this great rugby family.
Don’t miss this inspiring conversation with a committed father full of positive energy, a true example of passion at the service of the Club.
Connection with the Club
Father of two young players and occasional amateur Touch player (without much experience, but eager). Furthermore, by joining this great family, we have been linked to the management of the bar, the creation of the website and other products that strengthen the Club. There is work, but the final satisfaction is always the same: we have a great time!
Link with Rugby
Our eldest son encouraged us to enter this world. Now, although we have never been regular followers of any sport, we watch some rugby matches as a family and we love watching our children play. It is a sport that combines physical exercise, collaboration with teammates and a strategic vision of the game.
What led you to volunteer?
The truth is that I was already lightly linked to the Club’s bar, and through a talent form that the Club was looking for, I was encouraged to offer my knowledge in web development. I thought it was a good time to put into practice what I have been applying for years for clients in my work. In addition, it is an environment that encourages the contribution of ideas, and all proposals are welcome.
What else do you think we could do at the Club in relation to your volunteering?
I think the Club already offers a lot, as they respect the time you can invest (which is often little), they put a lot of will into getting down to work and they help in whatever is needed. I think it is very clear that we are all in the same boat and we must row together.
What would you say to other members of the Club to encourage them to become volunteers?
I would tell them not to think twice. It is a safe environment where proposals are always welcome, and everyone can apply their professional and personal skills. Whether you are a developer, designer, illustrator, photographer, manager, lawyer… I am sure you can help us in something.
It is the opportunity to be part of a great family that grows day by day and is built with people like you and me who, quite simply, love rugby.
